wild years of remorse and failures est un office des ténèbres moderne : à la place des lumières qui s'éteignent au fur et à mesure, ce sont les instruments qui disparaissent et le fait que ce soit une compilation des deux premiers albums de stroszek le met encore plus en évidence. les guitares électriques s'évanouissent, les samples se raréfient, la batterie se calme et la folk s'engage toujours plus dans la voie acoustique. même la voix se fait plus fatiguée, spectrale. beau et hypnotique.

Presque totalement converti au black, au death et au funeral (ô Bandcamp qu'as-tu fait de moi ?), je peux désormais mieux apprécier cet album. La force de ces morceaux est peut-être à chercher dans leur durée, qui est assez courte somme toute pour le genre. Cela permet à Womb de concentrer leurs effets sans se disperser ni se répéter - ni créer d'ennui.
